Baptisms:
ARRANGING A BAPTISM: Please give at least ONE MONTH'S NOTICE to the local priest preceding the date of baptism. If you don't live in the TORRY area of Aberdeen you can only be prepared by the parish priest of TORRY, if you obtain permission from the parish priest of the area where you live.
PREPARING FOR A BAPTISM: we will have two meetings (30 minutes each) at a time mutually arranged.
DONATION FOR BAPTISM: Baptism is God's gift to your child and you, so if you also wish to give a gift in return it will be much appreciated!
OBTAINING A COPY OF BAPTISM CERTIFICATE:
1. Please note only parents or carers will be provided with this info for data protection reasons. So if you are one, please supply us with the full name (including the surname) of the baptised and the date of baptism, names of parents,
2. Supply us with the Full names of parents and Godparents of the baptised. This information will enable us to supply you with the correct record of your baptism from the baptism register.
3. If you are not a regular member of Sacred Heart Church you are kindly asked to make a donation to cover postage.
SEEKING PERMISSION TO BAPTISE YOUR CHILD IN ANOTHER PARISH?:
If you live in the Torry area of Aberdeen, please contact the parish priest of Sacred Heart Church in Torry (see the CONTACTS link of this website) to obtain permission, because it is his responsibility in the first place to baptise your child. If you do not live in the Torry area there is no need to obtain permission.
Other sacramental preparation
Period of preparation: January to March
For First Confession: from 7 years of age onward at any age
For First Holy Communion: from 8 years of age onward at any age
For Confirmation: from 12 years of age onward at any age
